BATON ROUGE (AP) — An eighth-grade student at Glen Oaks High School has been arrested after a loaded gun was found in his sock.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office says the 15-year-old boy was booked Monday with illegal carrying of a weapon on school property into the parish's juvenile detention center.
According to reports, the School Drug Task Force was contacted by a School Resource Officer after a teacher saw the student put something in his sock. The officer found a loaded .22 revolver in the student's sock.
Investigators say the student gave no reason for having the weapon, and no threats were made.
