GRAMBLING (AP) — A Grambling State University spokesman says a student is in stable condition after being shot in the leg during a fight on campus.

Grambling spokesman Will Sutton tells Shreveport TV station KSLA that the student was taken to Ruston General Hospital Monday evening. He did not give the student's name but said he is from New Orleans.

Grambling campus police are investigating. Sutton says no one is in custody and that he isn't sure if police have a suspect or are even looking for one.

The fight occurred Monday evening near a dormitory formerly called Building 800. Sutton says the number of people involved remains unclear.
