HOUMA (AP) — Rumors about a threat of violence at Evergreen Junior High School were sparked by a student's social media posting about a dream, school officials say.
Terrebonne Parish Schools Superintendent Philip Martin told The Courier a student told a friend that she dreamed that another student came to school and started shooting. The friend then posted on Facebook about the conversation, leading some to believe there was a real threat.
Martin says there was never a threat and that the student didn't understand the impact the posting could have.
