West Monroe man accused of burning child with heater

WEST MONROE (AP) — Deputies say a 22 year-old West Monroe man was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center after being arrested on several charges, including burning his 3-year-old child with a space heater.

Authorities told The News-Star Vincent Tyler Froust allegedly threw a woman on a bed and choked her while their three children watched. He is accused of hitting the woman twice in the face during the attack.

Another woman stated to police that Froust grabbed her throat and choked her until she could not breathe.

The second woman told deputies that Froust allegedly burned the child on Saturday. Deputies reported there were blisters on the child's legs.

Froust is booked with domestic abuse battery by strangulation and cruelty to a juvenile.
