CROWLEY (AP) — A fugitive being sought by Crowley police on a counterfeiting charge has been linked by DNA to a previously unsolved burglary from five years ago.
Police Chief K.P. Gibson says 34-year-old Chad Thibodeaux, of Crowley, is being sought as a suspect in the 2008 burglary and on a charge of possessing counterfeit money.
The Advertiser reported it's the second cold-case residential burglary that has been linked to suspects recently through the use of DNA testing. Gibson says the other case involves a 2012 incident.
Gibson said Tuesday that Thibodeaux was already being sought by police after allegedly passing phony money in the city.
CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
