Update: Authorities looking for missing elderly man

The Lake Charles Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for an 84-year-old man who has been missing since Monday morning.

Leroy Stewart Sr., who has Alzheimer’s disease and has had two strokes, was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts, said Deputy Chief Mark Kraus.

Stewart was seen at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 1620 N. Simmons St. and the 1500 block of North Adams Street. Earlier in the day he was spotted at the Valero on U.S. 171.

Kraus said Stewart walked away from Moss Regional Hospital sometime early Monday morning. At the time he was wearing a yellow-and-tan striped, short-sleeve button-down shirt, tan cargo pants and black tennis shoes with three white stripes on the sides, according to .

Stewart walks with the aid of a walking cane, Kraus said.
