The men who robbed the Barksdale Federal Credit Union on Tuesday planned to burn the getaway vehicle when they switched to a secondary vehicle, DeRidder police said Wednesday.
The men brandished handguns while robbing the credit union and left with an undisclosed amount of money, Deputy Police Chief Christopher Rudy said.
Officers continue to search Wednesday for the four men, described as black and 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall, Rudy said.
The men wore masks, hoodies and gloves during the robbery, he said. The men likely have ties to the east and southeast Texas areas, Rudy said.
A white 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with Texas plates, believed to be the getaway vehicle, was found on Golden Lantern Road in Vernon Parish, he said.
Evidence there indicated the men planned to torch the truck, Rudy said.
