Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s officers responded to a report of an attempted abduction of a young girl north of Sulphur last Saturday, authorities confirmed.
The 8-year-old girl fled when the man stopped and talked to her, Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said. Myers said officers searched the area surrounding Koonce Road — where the incident occurred — in the Sheriff’s Office plane, but they did not find the man.
She said there is no suspect, but the investigation continues.
Jack Joshlin, a friend of the girl’s family, said there were several children playing outside when the incident happened. He said he chased the man, but the man got away without him being able to get a good look at his face.

Title: wrong.
He did not stop and talk to her. He was in the backyard and he chased her.
