A 36 year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of his victim on Thursday, said the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lucas J. Vincent was originally charged with aggravated burglary for striking Danny Lejeune, 53, of Lake Charles,

in the head with an unknown object on April 24 and then fleeing the scene, said Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson. She said that Lejeune had been transported to a local hospital at that time and was admitted into the ICU.

Myers said that Vincent was located later on the same day as the incident at a local casino and arrested.

On May 4, detectives learned Lejeune died from his injuries, she said, and the following day Vincent’s charges were upgraded from aggravated second degree battery to manslaughter. Judge Robert Wyatt set Vincent’s bond at $250,000.
