WESTLAKE — Authorities are investigating the shooting of two men Sunday night at Pinederosa Park in Westlake.

Officers received a call about shots fired at the park sometime around 8:30 p.m., according to Westlake police Chief Chris Wilrye. Two men were injured in the incident.

“One subject was airlifted to Lafayette General Hospital and the other one was transported by Acadian Ambulance to St. Patrick’s Hospital,” he said.

The conditions of the two victims were not known at  press time.

Wilrye said that officers were still working on information about the shooting and that he could not release any information about a suspect or suspects. He said that Westlake police detectives Vinson Johnson and Curtis Lyons are heading up the investigation and that the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was assisting them.

“That is all the information we have at this time. As soon as we have more information, we will release it,” he said.
