Douglas G. Tweed, Lake Charles, has been charged with simple burglary, theft, trespassing and property damage.

Tweed, 46, was arrested by the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office after he was found on property off of US 90 near Welsh by the owner, Chief Criminal Investigator Chris Ivey said in a news release.

The property owner discovered a toolbox was missing from his barn. It was allegedly found next to Tweed’s truck, which was stuck in the mud next to the barn.

Tweed admitted he stole the toolbox, Ivey said.

Stephen Guidry, 27, of Jennings, has been charged with simple burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and trespassing.

Ivey said in a news release that deputies found stolen property in a truck that was sitting in a local parking lot.

The items were allegedly taken Saturday night from a residence on Empire Road in Jennings, Ivey said.

The items were recovered and returned to the owner, he said.
